Production

The Mie Plant is the oldest domestic production facility in the Marine Foods Group.Key product lines include Hossala, a Japanese salad made with green laver (a specialty of Mie prefecture) and fresh hokkigai (Canadian Arctic surf clams), and Gorotto Salmon Don, generous chunks of salmon to be used as topping on rice, a masterpiece from our product development team.
Hossala salad is often featured in boat-style sushi pieces at conveyor belt sushi restaurants.The Mie Plant also makes seafood products from MSC and ASC certified sources.

Kushiro Marusui makes products from fresh-caught Hokkaido seafood sourced from nearby fishing grounds.Their flagship product, Hokkaido Umami Tako, is made from locally sourced chestnut octopus, which is cooked using superheated steam to retain the delicious flavor in full.The facility also produces salmon roe and other roe products sourced from further afield including Russia.

The first overseas production facility in the Marine Foods Group, MF Vietnam was established in 2019 via a merger with a Marine Foods affiliate in Vietnam.The facility makes finished products from squid and salmon supplied by Marine Foods.The skilled workers at MF Vietnam produce high-quality sushi fillings made to Japanese food quality standards.The main clients are bulk retail outlets and conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Japan.

With ready access to plentiful fishing grounds, Chile in South America is one of the world’s leading seafood producers.
MF Chile was founded in 2022 to supply sea urchin products made from locally sourced produce.The company has two production plants that export to both Japan and the United States.In recent years, MF Chile has been sourcing seafood from the wider South America region in addition to domestic suppliers.
